Never used tallow before?

Tallow is rendered fat from beef. The fat is rendered to remove impurities. I know you’re thinking:

“Why would I put beef fat on my face?”

I had the same thought when I first heard of tallow. Someone suggested that I create a tallow balm, and after looking into all of the skin benefits of tallow I realized that it’s more than just another skin trend. —

Tallow is more compatible with the molecular structure of our skin than most oils used in skin care products today. It contains high triglycerides and fatty acids which help with our skin barrier function. It’s antimicrobial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory. It also contains vitamins A, D, K & E. It nourishes and moisturizes while also being noncomedogenic, so it won’t clog your pores.

The most important thing when using skin products containing tallow is making sure it is sourced from organic grass-fed beef. This ensures that the cow was fed a proper diet, and was given no vaccines, antibiotics, or growth hormones.
